Throughout the summer period we will source wild caught Australian prawns. There are numerous prawn species including endevour, banana, school, red spot king and tiger to name a few.
Predominately we will use king and tiger prawns cooked ready to consume. The tiger prawns will be caught in the warmer waters from Queensland to Northern Territory. The king prawns can be from either Queensland or South Australia depending on which is better quality at the time. These prawns are cooked on board the vessels and are snap frozen to ensure premium eating quality once thawed.
Prawns are an excellent source of complete protein which mean it includes all nine amino acids. They are lower in calories then chicken or beef but deliver the same amount of protein.
Once again this Christmas we will be supporting local Australian Fishermen featuring their medium and large freshly cooked tiger prawns, we also have a vast range of prawn meat, prawn tails that are raw and cooked, along with various sized raw and cooked whole frozen prawns.
