Spring time represents a great time of the year to indulge in some fresh Pacific Oysters. As we approach the Christmas period, the supply is looking promising.
Pacific’s are harvested in both South Australian and Tasmanian Oyster growing areas from renowned farms such as Bruny Island and Boomer Bay (TAS), Smoky Bay and Coffin Bay (S.A). They excel in cooler waters and climate, and supply is strong in comparison to recent years.
The versatility of Oysters is often understated. Many diners will enjoy them raw with optional lemon juice, others prefer Kilpatrick-style with sliced bacon and Worcestershire Sauce. They can also be deep-fried for a different taste and texture!
Here at White Fisheries we sell fresh Oysters which are shucked on site, we also sell them unopened and can be purchased in our retail store each day.
